About Us

Welcome! My name is Betsy “Be” Jean-Baptiste, ShEO of Essentials by Just Be. First and foremost, I want to thank you sooo much for visiting my website and supporting my business. 

A little about me, I was born and raised in Massachusetts to two Haitian immigrant parents. It was a tough upbringing to say the least. I graduated college with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice and a Masters in Education with a concentration in Psychiatric Rehabilitation. For about 8 years, I’ve worked in the human service field helping people with disabilities (mental, physical, learning, substance abuse, ect) enhance their quality of life through employment, training, and counseling. 

The human services field is fulfilling yet stressful. Years later, I was burned out, stressed out, and life was kicking my ass. At my lowest point, I started reading books, positive quotes, and shutting out things that didn’t feed my spirit in a positive way. I started to put my self care first; mentally, emotionally, and physically, things moved in a more positive direction for me. I now know that self care is a must!

Meet The Team

Yup that’s us..our little team. Standing strong beside me is my best friend, copilot, & partner-in-life, Michel J. ‘Jay’ Teleau. Jay and I met back in high school in 2002. We were friends and hung out for a while but lost contact for many years after. Fast forward to 2021, here we are doing this thing called life together. He’s been the best support system through this business venture. Shout out to my bae!!🖤 

Our Mission

Essentials by Just Be was created to promote self care. I will always provide the best quality products and excellent service to my customers. But I don’t want to just sell products , I want to educate my customers about ways to self care and promote positivity.  I want to remind you that taking care of yourself and evolving is the best care. 

All of our products are made with love from start to finish. Our candles are hand poured from our North Carolina home. We chose all-natural, non-toxic ingredients in our candles. Each candle is specially handcrafted using a parasoy candle wax and infused with natural fragrance oils. The amazing aroma can fill a room while creating a sense of comfort and luxury. All digital products are created by me from my home office. I can't wait for you to try them out!!
